The Center for Disease Dynamics Economics and Policy (CDDEP)

The Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy (CDDEP) was founded with the objective of using research to support better decision-making in health policy.  The CDDEP team employs a range of expertise - including economics, epidemiology, disease modeling, risk analysis, and statistics—to produce actionable, policy-oriented studies on malaria, antibiotic resistance, disease control priorities, environmental health, alcohol and tobacco, and various other diseases.

Many CDDEP projects are global in scope, spanning Africa, Asia, and North America.  The strength of CDDEP derives from its researchers’ experience in addressing country and region-specific health problems, as well as truly global challenges, while recognizing the circumstances in which the answers must fit. The outcomes of individual projects go beyond the usual models to inspire new strategies for analysis, and innovative approaches are shared through publications and presentations focusing specifically on methodology.

Founded in 2009 as a center of Resources for the Future, CDDEP is an independent non-profit organization.  With headquarters in Washington D.C. and New Delhi, CDDEP currently employs 14 full-time staff members in India, Kenya, and the United States, and relies on a distinguished team of academics and policy analysts around the world.

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI)

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is a response to redress the limited institutional capacity in India for strength training, research and policy development in the area of Public Health.

It is a public private partnership that has collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies including Indian and international academia, state and central governments, multi & bi-lateral agencies and civil society groups.

Structured as an independent foundation, PHFI adopts a broad, integrative approach to public health, tailoring its endeavours to Indian conditions and bearing relevance to countries facing similar challenges and concerns. The PHFI focuses on broad dimensions of public health that encompass promotive, preventive and therapeutic services, many of which are frequently lost sight of in policy planning as well as in popular understanding.
